Abstract

Zusammenfassung

Im Mittelpunkt dieses Interviews stehen die Motivation für die Gründung des Humboldt Center for Transdisciplinary Studies im chinesischen Changsha und die modellierende epistemologische Kraft, die von Humboldt für die wissenschaftliche Arbeit im Bereich von TransArea Studies sowie allgemein transdisziplinärer Wissenschaftskonzepte ausgeht. Hierin zeigt sich Humboldt als Quelle wissenschaftlicher Inspiration.

Abstract

This interview is about the motivations behind the foundation of the Humboldt Center for Transdisciplinary Studies at Hunan Normal University in Changsha (China) and about the epistemological power created by Alexander von Humboldt in the field of TransArea Studies and, in general, in transdisciplinary scientific approaches. Humboldt is seen as a fountain of inspiration.

Resumen

Esta entrevista discute las razones que llevaron a la fundación del Humboldt Center for Transdisciplinary Studies de la Hunan Normal University en Changsha, China, y la fuerza epistemológica que ejerce la práctica científica de Alejandro de Humboldt sobre los Estudios Transareales así como sobre concepciones transdisciplinares en el campo de las Humanidades. Se enfoca a Humboldt como una fuerza inspiradora en este campo.

Author Biographies

Ottmar Ette

1956 im Schwarzwald geboren. Seit Oktober 1995 Lehrstuhl für Romanische Literaturwissenschaft an der Universität Potsdam. 1990 Promotion an der Universität Freiburg i.Br. 1995 Habilitation an der Katholischen Universität Eichstätt. Mehrfach Gastdozenturen in verschiedenene Ländern Lateinamerikas sowie in den USA und in China. 2004-2005 Fellow am Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin, 2010 Fellow am FRIAS (Freiburg Institute for Advanced Studies), 2013 Fellow an der Bayreuth Academy of Advanced African Studies. Seit 2010 ist er Mitglied der Academia Europaea. Seit 2012 Chevalier dans l‘Ordre des Palmes Académiques (Frankreich). Seit 2013 Ordentliches Mitglied der Geisteswissenschaftlichen Klasse der Berlin-Brandenburgischen Akademie der Wissenschaften. Seit 2014 Honorary Member der Modern Language Association of America (MLA).

REN Haiyan is Full Professor at Foreign Studies College of Hunan Normal University, co-founder and Deputy Director of the Humboldt Center for Transdisciplinary Studies, Managing Editor of 《外国语言与文化》 and Journal of Foreign Languages and Cultures. Her special fields of research include travel literature, critical theory and Humboldtian Studies.
