Abstract

Abstract

In this study the fragment of Alexander von Humboldt’s Siberian personal diary of 1829 is introduced. The evaluation is focussed on Humboldt’s remarks about mineral resources, especially gold and diamonds. Also mentioned are results which Humboldt recorded about geographical, botanical, meteorological, zoological and ethnological questions.

Zusammenfassung

In der vorliegenden Arbeit werden die von Humboldt verfassten Fragmente des Sibirischen Reisejournals von 1829 vorgestellt. Besonders ausführlich waren Humboldts Bemerkungen über Bodenschätze wie Gold und Diamanten und ihre Vorkommen in Russland, er notierte aber auch geographische und meteorologische Messergebnisse sowie pflanzen-geographische und zoologische Bemerkungen.

Author Biography

Petra Werner

Biochemikerin, Wissenschaftshistorikern, Publizistin, arbeitet seit Herbst 1999 in der Alexander-von-Humboldt-Forschungsstelle der BBAW. Im Jahre 2004 veröffentlichte sie die Monographie „Himmel und Erde. Alexander von Humboldt und sein Kosmos“.
