DOAJ-Seal

2025-06-16

Dear HiN community,

The DOAJ has discontinued its best practice seal “Seal” for all listed journals. In future, the seal will be replaced by new labels such as “Diamond” and “The author retains all rights”, and others are planned. At the request of the DOAJ, we have also removed the seal from our website - this decision affects all DOAJ journals and does not reflect any change in the quality or working methods of HiN.

HiN continues to be indexed in DOAJ, the gold standard for open access journals. This reaffirms our ongoing commitment to:

  • complying with editorial and technical quality criteria, including digital long-term archiving and the use of persistent identifiers

  • assigning a Creative Commons license (CC-BY-NC 4.0)

  • providing open, comprehensive metadata to enhance discoverability and visibility through catalogs and databases across languages and disciplines for global reach

We are proud of our listing in the DOAJ and the best practices associated with it. If you have any questions about the withdrawal of the Seal or HiN’s standards, please feel free to contact us at any time.
